Companion Life Insurance has added an International Treatment Option to all of their US dental plans. They work with an offshoot comapny, Companion Global Dental who will make all travel arrangements for American patients who want to go to Costa Rica to save money on dental care.
Companion Life says, “We believe we are the first national dental insurer to provide international travel and care as a value-added option on all of our polcies. This option will allow our members to get the dental treatment they need at a credentialed facility, to save significantly on out-of-pocket costs, and even combine an exciting vacation with their dental treatment.”
It is interesting to see this benefit added to dental plans. The travel arrangements could be very useful. We don’t know the details of the plan, how it works, or exactly what it covers but it could make your dental vacation even more affordable by defraying costs. If that is indeed the case then we will be happy to report more as more details of the coverage are made available.

Finally!!! A dental insurance policy that covers international treatment. My parents, wife, and I have been receiving dental care in Costa Rica for several years. Nice to know that our dental plan might finally cover some of it!
